UK tour and Scala

We've just started our UK tour and are really privileged to be playing with The Invisible! Last night was really good fun, they played a wicked set, lots of people turned up post-fresher's week and it was a great start to the tour.

We're really, really looking forward (and bricking it a little) about playing The Scala next week... it's going to be the first gig in London for ages. What a line-up as well... even if you're not coming, make sure you give Connan Mockasin from New Zealand a listen. He'll be playing before the Invisible :)

Hearing the end...

Of U.S. tour. Currently in New York, got a really exciting gig with ACME string quartet ensemble tomorrow, NICE!!! ...then home...

Much love to everyone who's come to our shows so far; Hamilton was especially good fun! It means a lot to us that people actually come to our gigs, especially this far away from home...

We're in Washington D.C.

And about as close to Obama as we're gonna get before we fly to Minneapolis tomorrow morning, because it's a $55 cab journey to get to the White House.

Raisa's happy that it's warmer than she thought it would be :)

Really lookin forward to playing tomorrow!!!

And I love plane food...

You've got to check this out...

My mates Sean and Liam's website. They're brilliant film editors.

Look in the 'homegrown' section in particular.

In The Woods

To those who've left messages on our website- sorry it's taken so long to find them... we're only just finding our way around it ourselves!

It was a little mean putting In The Woods up... The Laurel Collective organise it (check 'em out!) and it's really small, all tickets have gone already... they got in trouble last year for it and so aren't allowed to publish info publicly on the internet. Sorry about this!

Are any of you going to Bestival though?

Notting Hill Carnival

What an experience! Was my first time this year and I'm definately going to make the effort every year now. Tried to meet up with Mica but it wasn't gonna happen, especially if you don't know the place. Found a really nice Dub/Reggae sound system and stayed there- no point trying to move about (as we found the hard way!).

I think it's wicked that London has this to it's name- I often think a lot of bad things about our city but the Carnival has regained my faith :)

It's funny that it's in West London as well- I would have expected this kind of festival to take part in Forest Gate in Newham, East London - my neck of the woods. It's far more culturally diverse where I live, so it's good to see this sort of festival happenin West.

Looking forward to Aarhus festival in Denmark tomorrow :)

Anyway, some pics below.

Lowlands + Pukklepop

These were two wicked festivals in Holland and Belgium respectively. We all went into a town called Amsfort the night before. Me and Jack got a lift on the bikes of two locals to the nearest coffee shop (lucky!). There was a brilliant crowd at Lowlands; we were first band on for the weekend and everyone came screaming with excitement through the gates (probably not because they were going to see us, though!). Walked around and managed to actually see some of the campsite which had a really nice, calm atmosphere.

Got a picture with Lily Allen at a service station!

Saw Gang Gang Dance, Ed Rush + Optical, Arctic Monkeys, N.E.R.D., walked in on the last song of Florence and the Machine :( and bumped into some people we hadn't seen in ages. Really nice weekend, looking forward to Festibelly this weekend where we'll be playing on the same stage as The Laurel Collective! Gonna be a nice trip up with those guys.

Much love, Marc Shape
